:: Meant to be read out loud ::
I saw you with her today, holding her hand, laughing over muffin and tea. You think I won’t notice, and if I did I won’t throw a fuss.
I saw you with her today, whispering sweet words into her ear. My heart breaking to pieces, can you hear it? My knees are shaking and trembling, do you care at all? Oh you are so close to losing me, my dear, or are you already gone, I fear?
Does she love you like I do? Does she place soft kisses on your forehead before you fall asleep, and stroke your hair tenderly in the morning? Will she walk your dogs twice a day, and shower them weekly while you are away? Will she take your mother to the doctors; can she chat with your business partners?
Does she make cheesecakes with fresh lemon juice, can she program in Java, and appreciate the slick ways you manipulate data? Is she aware of your childhood dreams, or that you used to be the star of your college rugby team? Does she see you beyond titles and abilities, wealth and utilities? Does she accept your flaws and in-securities, your fear of commitment and intimacy?
Does she understand the scars of your past, secrets of your lust? Did you tell her your desires and fantasies, your adventures and odysseys? Does she see the beautiful soul behind your lean body, the caring ways you treat her like a lady? Will she stay by your side through earthquake and hurricane, unemployment and chapter 13?
Does she love you like I do, does she care for you as much as I do? Did she touch your heart deeper than I had, if you lose her will you be sad? I saw you with her today, your eyes soft with affection, your face intense with attention. I saw you with her today; I hide myself from you and pretend to be okay, you didn’t see me before I ran away.
