The greatest power we possess is our ability to make people feel
loved, and yet it is among the least used of human abilities.
“Matthew Kelly, Seven Levels of Intimacy, p 265.”
I don’t want to take the safe way out and deny myself of the journey,
the gift I can bring you along this path. I will not hold back,
because I want our friendship to grow, to thrive and not merely
survive. I want to pour love into it and into you, at the risk of
feeling helpless and vulnerable.
Loving you makes me powerfully vulnerable, it makes me glow. With
bright lights illuminating my path, I travel through a long dark
passage previously unexplored; to a brave new world to discover the
tremendous power I now possess: to nurture your soul deeply and allow
my own heart to heal. For a little while longer this torch will
ignite, to shine upon our heart making the next path bright. To
inspire both of us to create poetry, constructing prose enlightening
life’s glory.
I stand before you, powerfully vulnerable; and represent all the
vulnerabilities that aren’t powerful enough to present themselves
before you. When she who is cruel stomps on your heart, I want you to
remember the vulnerability I am, the ones you may not have seen, and
walk away with your faith intact; knowing that you are loved, lusted,
and longed for, by so many who are kind.
